Work for Purpose

It seems like only a few days ago that we were preparing for the Christmas break and thinking ahead to plans for the new year, but here we are in March already.

I haven’t been writing the blog as regularly as I had intended because we have had a busy start to the year and client work has had to take priority. We have also been making efforts to improve our internal process and support systems to ensure that, as we grow, we continue to be able to deliver the levels of service we pride ourselves on.

Looking at the results of our satisfaction survey, 95 percent of our clients scored our service as either 9 or 10 out of 10, which must mean we are doing something right. However, being a perfectionist by nature, it also means that there is room for improvement!

Hiring another adviser was one of the things on the top of my list of ‘to dos’ at the start of the year but I only got around to writing the job spec this week.

Part of the reason for the delay was my inner perfectionist telling me that we needed to make our processes flawless for the new member of the team, but the work we have undertaken over the past few months has made me realise that process improvement is an ongoing task and we won’t ever be at the point of having completed it. In this fast moving world of technological and regulatory change life is never boring!

What my lack of action has highlighted is that we are not just in need of someone qualified to give advice, our new team member will also need to get involved in improving and challenging us as a company and helping us in pursuit of our purpose, to enhance levels of wellbeing in society by aligning personal finances with desired lifestyles. If you know anyone that might be interested in the opportunity to get involved please point them in our direction.
